Outside Cable Plant Mapping

CIPS (Cyber Space Infrastructure Planning System) thick client, developed under contract by the U.S. Air Force is an ArcGIS extension specifically to convert CSIR drawings to the Communications Mission Dataset (CMDS). This ArcGIS extension is deployed within the 45th Space Wing and other installations as the GIMS (Geographic Information Management System). Spatial Technologies teaches the Communications Visualization Toolkit course that covers end-to-end Outside Cable Plant Management.

From manhole and vault inspection to CSIR drawing conversion, the development of the digital / georeferenced Mission Dataset overlay to the CIP is the objective of the course.
